Below is reading to help prepare us all for discussion at the conference. The Eating Local books focus on how we as individuals can get started - practically - buying and eating local for our families. The Food Security books look at the problems of eating globally and the challenges to food security, sovereignty and safety this system poses. Peak Oil books look at the new constraints we face in growing and distributing food with increasing costs for fossil fuels. The Hawai‘i Specific books bring these problems and solutions home to our own islands. At the end are how-to books on Gardening and Farming in our tropical environment.
Most of these books can be purchased at Kona Stories.
