Through Partnerships for Reform Through Investigative Science and Math (PRISM), Hawai‘i-specific standards-based units and lesson plans are available to interested educators. The lessons were developed and tested by classroom teachers in partnership with graduate students from the University of Hawai‘i at Hilo.

For the past year, Inge Heyer, an astronomy educator with the Joint Astronomy Centre in Hilo, has been conducting classes for teachers in Hilo and in Kona. On her Web site are lesson plans and photos of simple projects that can be used to teach students about space science.
