"Gardening as Academic Support at School and Home"
A Special Presentation by Dilafruz Williams

Fee: $15/family (kids are welcome)
This presentation is for teachers, parents, and community on the value of gardening as an academic subject. The presentation will be followed by a worm hands-on activity where participants can collect worm castings to take home to use in their own gardens or to start their own worm farm. Books will also be for sale. Dilafruz Williams was President of the Portland Public School's BOE. She founded Portland Public Environmental Education Middle School and the Learning Gardens Program at Portland State University.

Cooking contest and demonstrations, ‘ulu trees for sale, cultural uses, cultivation and care of ‘ulu trees, quilting, poi pounding, Kapa making, keiki crafts, food (featuring ‘ulu) and music all day.
